Every week I interview entrepreneurs and experts from around the world to share their big idea about new forms of value creation and the potential we can unlock when technology augments the unique strengths of people to deliver remarkable impact.
Listen to the podcast with Stefan Eyram.
Grow fast and now
I got inspired by the big idea behind Youneeq AI, hence I invited CRO, Stefan Eyram to my podcast. We explore what’s broken in the market with regards to helping SMBs and mid-market organizations taking advantage of the power of AI to grow fast and now.
The thing that triggered me most from my interview with Stefan
Let’s not get fooled into a single solution that will boil the ocean and give you every AI tool you need from now until you’re retired. Let’s solve the problems that are the most important. Solutions that will work now.
Why did this trigger me? What’s the bigger value here?
This approach goes back to the premise that a complicated problem doesn’t necessarily mean it’s automatically an enterprise problem. Let’s take customer experience – every company on the planet has to deal with this. Norms are changing rapidly, and it impacts everyone. That’s what Youneeq saw and instead of focusing on aiming their solution at the enterprise market, they tuned it to fit the unique (what’s in a word) needs of SMB and mid-market organizations.
What it means is this: Instead of building an all-in-one suite to address the typical complexity of the enterprise, they researched smaller and niche markets to isolate the top 2-3 use cases in specific industries where today’s technology could have the biggest and fastest impact.
From there they tuned their solution into bite-sized pieces to ensure the biggest value in the shortest amount of time. This also meant solving the resourcing challenge of many SMB and mid-market companies – they don’t have the luxury of a big IT team like enterprise customers have. So solutions need to be extremely fast and simple to implement: days, not weeks or months. The aim is to start, to get results fast, and to mature from there. Call it democratization.
What’s the more significant question/opportunity that raises?
It’s the opportunity of creating what I call: The Remarkable Effect. It’s the essence of my upcoming book. I strongly believe every technology company can create the remarkable effect and stand out in their category. It’s about creating a natural balance around three basic questions:
- Is what you offer highly valuable in the eyes of your ideal customer
- Is it critical for them i.e. does it create a sense of urgency?
- Can you exceed expectation
This requires you to clearly define what’s broken in the world of your ideal customers and how you can solve it in a way that creates a shift in value. Too often we, business software companies. Too often we take the inside-out approach and focus on the ‘interesting’ rather than the ‘valuable’. This is how we end up with ‘technology in search of a problem’.
Youneeq AI did it’s homework to find 2 or 3, not 20 or 30, use cases per vertical market where real impact can be made (both valuable and urgent) and focused on solving that in a way they can exceed expectations.
They also clearly carved out ‘who they are for’ and ‘who they are not for’. Positioning is not a thing for just marketing – it’s possibly the most strategic instrument you have to align every aspect of your business around the growth you aspire and end up having customers saying: I’m glad you sold me this. That’s valuable.
Listen to the big idea behind Youneeq, and why it has the potential to transform the way SMBs can exceed expectations by incorporating AI in a focused and pragmatic way into their business.
